April 19 Come join me on Development Crossing!Development Crossing was set up in 2006 by a small group of friends with diverse backgrounds ranging from business consulting to international development. We believe that three major topics, environmental advancement, corporate responsibility, and sustainable development are increasingly intertwined in today’s world. Our goal back then was to create a site where individuals that shared our passion could keep up-to-date with relevant happenings in the world and connect with other like-minded individuals. In 2007, the site received over 800,000 views and produced over 1,000 news stories. We grew our readership by adding new features and began to increase interactivity with RSS feeds, newsletters, polls and others. As the year came to a close, we began to think of ways to improve the website further. Realizing that our readers are the site's greatest resource, we decided to upgrade to a fully-supported networking platform, enabling users to create profiles, their own blogs, groups and allowing for further interaction between them. The idea behind Development Crossing is to provide a social network to bring together people from a variety of sectors, countries and professions to discuss corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. We encourage direct interaction between organizations and individuals to share ideas and concerns, and most importantly, to find resolutions to our common challenges! Wherever people gather productively, opportunities to profit will emerge. Now it is up to you to make a difference. Development Crossing is fully funded by its founders and has no affiliation to any corporations or organizations. We are constantly exploring partnerships, conferences and projects to ensure adding more value for our members and future expansion of the community. Again, bring your questions, concerns, and ideas to the community. Blog about them. Start a forum or a group. Form networks and engage in conversation. We are eager to receive your feedback and encourage you to contact us with any comments, questions or suggestions you may have at: comments@developmentcrossing.com. Thank you for your continued support. Visit http://www.developmentcrossing.com to sign up for a free membership today! The Development Crossing Team |
